My daughter (rising 7th grader) attended two weeks of Dave Scagnelli’s Softball Camp this summer. It was a success on all levels! We have several children who have played softball and baseball for years, and we have seen our share of coaches. Dave Scagnelli is outstanding. He breaks the game down in an age appropriate way so that the players understand and can adjust to his attentive instructions. He strikes the right balance between skill development, teaching the basics of strategy, and letting the girls have fun and build teamwork. The counselors were qualified and encouraging, and always helpful. The environment was low key, which was refreshing — easy drop off and pick up procedures. The camp was well run and expertly organized! Also a bonus—for girls who want to stay an hour longer (or who need to, due to family schedules), there was an hour of crafts. This was a surprise bonus, taught by a teacher with a lot of craft experience. We had fourteen days of really fun and inventive crafts!

Coach Scags- Thank you so much for the scholarship opportunity to be part of your awesome camp! I have grown to love this sport and it’s programs like yours that make the game what it is. I enjoyed every second that I got to spend there. I attended camp for four weeks and had the best time. I loved challenging the other team to volleyball, tug of war, homerun derby, and many more competitions. My favorite part about the whole day were the games after lunch. The coaching staff was amazing and taught me so much. They were very personable and friendly and I had a great time talking with them about the sport in general. I am looking forward to making myself better through all the instruction I received in my time there. Also, as a pitcher, Camp truly helped me improve my pitching through competitions and having a pitching coach available to learn different techniques. Thanks for a great 4 weeks! I’m looking forward to next year!

Jordanna came to Dave Scagnelli Softball camp specifically to work with Dave Scagnelli again. Jordanna had been introduced to Dave at a different camp the summer before and had eagerly awaited the opportunity to play and learn from him again! She had enjoyed the previous summer with Dave and his team of counsellors, who could offer her their knowledge from playing the game themselves. The improvement that I have seen over the summer has been incredible. Jordanna is a more consistent softball player, she has had the opportunity to work with Dave, and his amazing counsellors, who all have so much to offer the younger girls at camp! Jordanna came home with knew terminology and skills daily this summer, she couldn’t wait to utilize the skills that she fine tuned at camp during this summer season and will continue to use during fall softball. Jordanna has found this experience one of the best, wishing that the camp was longer than the five weeks it ran! Dropping her off every morning I knew that she would come home excited about her day and ready for the next! We look forward to many more summers attending Dave Scagnelli Softball Camp!

Scags’ camp was a great opportunity for her to grow and learn with area girls her age throughout the summer. His drills and reinforcement of skills made it an exciting and competitive environment. The staff was highly qualified and made each activity fun and informative. Aimee is still in touch with the girls she met during the camp and she can’t wait to see them during her season.

Our daughters Kait and Juliet attended Scags camp for two weeks and enjoyed being with their friends playing and learning. The counselors were very friendly and upbeat. The camp was organized and well run. The enjoyed the different challenge games every day and even getting prizes!

This was my daughter’s first summer at Coach Scag’s softball camp and she had a blast! She loved not only learning new softball skills but also spending time with the counselors and new friends off the field with fun activities every day. She definitely wants to go back next year.

Found out about Dave's camp through a friend. I gathered (8) girls from our town softball team to try it out. Originally concerned about a full day of softball, how can that possibly keep a group of 10 year olds engaged? Well, our girls didn't want to leave each day and had us waiting in the parking lot! They all decided they wanted to sign up for another week! Dave and his crew of counselors kept our girls busy with multiple games and non softball activities. Top notch training helped our girls game during our summer season for sure! We will be back for additional weeks of camp next year, keep up the
great work!
JORDAN & SAMANTHA
AGE 13 & 17
Both of my girls had a FABULOUS experience at Coach Scagnelli’s softball camp! He used his vast coaching knowledge to implement different drills every day in order to teach and reinforce the necessary skills to be a successful softball player. My girls improved both their offensive and defensive play, working on real-game tools such as wheeling and slapping. In addition to all of the great softball, the girls had a blast with the other activities he ran — pop-a-shot, tug-of-war, ping pong, dodgeball, etc. Coach Scagnelli and his staff were welcoming, kind, instructive, and most importantly, FUN! I would absolutely recommend this camp for any child who enjoys softball — my girls have already asked me to sign them up for
next summer!
